B&D Cordless Hedge Trimmer

I have yet to purchase a product made by B & D that has met my expectation of standards.Prior to this purchase I had another Brand Cordless with a 24 V rechargeable battery. Afther a couple years of use the motor just stopped and to my disappointment Amazon no longer has the brand so I ordered the B & D. The cutting power of this tool is quite satisfactory - my complaint is the inconvenient switch. First one must slide the safety lock to an open position and then hold it while simultaneously squeezing the trigger which must be held very tightly to engage the micro switch.^M

Well, To hell with OSHA, the parasitic trial lawyers and all the other dogooders that think they can save mankind from all and every potential hazard. I opened the case (removing about 8 phillips head screws, and modified the trigger switch with some padding so that the micro switch is engaged sooner. I also drilled a nail size hole in the safety lock switch so that by inserting a nail it will hold in the open position. Now my 75 year old hands can operate this machine with much greater ease. ^M

Although this item was made in China - I expect it was engineered by one of our own younger gereration of dumbed down idiots. ^M

Units works as advertised both in what it will handle and how long it will cut on a battery charge! What more could you ask for?
