Product Description

In the months when darkness falls before the workday concludes, a well-lit house adds a touch of warmth to cold winter days. With this electronic, seven-day timer from Timex, light need not ratchet up electric bills or waste precious energy. Users simply plug a lamp into the timer and program the handy gadget to flick on moments before arrival. Users also can plug a coffee maker into the timer, for freshly brewed java first thing in the morning.

With heavy-duty grounded plug, the 1875-watt capacity timer services two and three prong electrical appliances alike. The LCD display presents easy-to-read digits for user convenience. The timer handles a full week's worth of programming, with twenty potential programs available per day. Vacationing users also can opt to set their timer on random, igniting plugged in lamps at unpredictable times to confuse possible burglars who might otherwise infer a vacant house. Times automatically adjust for daylight savings time. Timex offers an extended four-year warranty with product registration and fee. The timer measures 1-1/2 by 2-3/4 by 3 inches. --Jessica Reuling

What Some Customers Thought

Is it assembled by apes?

I can set the times and all the settings. Basically I followed the instructions, and it's fairly simple to do. One huge problem, the timer doesn't automatically turn the appliance on or off, even with the setting on AUTO. It has ON, AUTO ON, OFF, and AUTO OFF. If you set it to one of the auto, then it'll proceed with the next programmed time to either turn it on or off. But none of those functions work, so it's just a useless LED clock that plugs into the wall socket. Such a cheaply made piece of junk. My intuition was correct the moment I received it. Doesn't even work the first day. Stick with the traditional timer, the kind that you press the notch to set the time. Don't waste your money.

Stopped working after one month

After one month of use, the appliances plugged into this timer did not work anymore. I can get the red LED to turn on and off when it's plugged into the wall, but there is no voltage coming out. (I measured it with a voltmeter.) Target doesn't seem to be selling it anymore, so I'm just going to get a refund.

Does the prong part swivel?

Does the center of this, where the prongs go... does it swivel? I'm looking for an outlet adaptor that will plug into a horizontal outlet but allow my appliance to stand upright. I need something that plugs into the wall horozintally but shows it's holes vertically. I hope that made sense.
