Product Description

Quite possibly, this is the world's best 14.4-volt drill. When you first pick it up, you don't expect much: It's light and amazingly compact. But just wrap your hand around the cushioned, soft-grip, non-slip handle and squeeze the comfortable, rubberized trigger, and you're packing so much torque--390 inch-pounds--that we defy you not to shout "Oh yeah!" First, we love the size. It's so smartly designed and built that you'll be able to work in the tight spots other drills can only dream about. We have no beef with the tough plastic housing, because it definitely contributes to the light weight. The battery design is a stroke of genius because it enables you to insert the battery with the overlap to the front OR the back, so you can tailor the shape of your drill to your workspace. Another nice feature is the ease with which the battery goes on and off--we've struggled more than we care to admit with batteries on other drills. In the power department, you can't beat this tough guy. It maxes at an impressive 1,400 rpm, and none of the vibration ends up in your bones. Add to all of that the nifty Clip-Lock storage hanger, and you cannot help but love this drill. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

What Some Customers Thought

Heavy Duty without being too Heavy

I don't know who cordless tool manufacturers are talking to that would possess them to continue to make bulky, heavy 18v and even 28v drills. I just purchased this compact 14.4v drill after doing only a few dumb-bell curls in a tool store aisle with several of its competitors. You see, I really don't care about torque ratings or power when I purchase cordless drills. I'm a professional remodeler specializing in finish work, and I use these things all day long. What I care about is the weight, the size, and the gripping power of the keyless chuck. Battery life ratings, as far as I can tell from my experience, is a bunch of meaningless marketing jargon. Batteries for cordless tools will always be cursed because they happen to die when you need them most...that is, when ever you're using them. With that said, so far, this drill has been outstanding in every way at the job site. It's got plenty of torque, it's relatively light compared to 18v models, and its chuck seems to have plenty of grip. What I love most is that the battery swivels, so-to-speak, to make it a little easier to get into tight spots. It's already compact in size compared to other models which is a significant plus. Most builders and remodelers I know tend to prize weight over torque as well. If you ever need the kind of torque to drill through a foundation, steel beam, or into a concrete floor, do yourself a favor and invest in a heavy duty, plug-in hammer drill.

Great Cordless Drill

I have owned Makita and most recently dewalt. By far a superior product. Motorola ought to use the belt clip idea for phones!

Best Portable Drill on the Market

You will not find a better drill on the Market. It is superior in all function. Includes one of the best chucks I have ever encountered.
