What Some Customers Thought
Nice selection and sharp
I bought htis set for myself after gifting to my father in law last year. Since he received them he has done some molding projects for furniture and just loved them. I used mine the first time about two weeks ago while building the bar top in the kitchen. They cut like a hot knife through butter.
5 stars based upon value
I am sure that there are router bits that make these look bad. However, I am not willing to spend the extra money for the difference. I bought this set about one month ago and have since done some serious work with them. I have used 5 of the bits (1/2 & 3/4 dado, 3/8 inch round over, 3/8 inch cove, and 1 inch rabbet). In all cases the cuts were smooth and straight. No burn marks were made and the bits performed better than expected. The ball bearing on the end of the bits is not as beefy looking as some other bits I have used, but they did not leave any marks on the wood and the quality is good enough that I would not worry about their reliability. I have already recommended this set to my father and a couple friends. This set is truly a good buy. (FYI all of my work was done on solid oak and oak laminated plywood.)
Good bits... bad packaging
The bits arrived (finally) after a couple of weeks. The package was dropped so many times that about a third of the bits were displaced from their seating. The protective coat was chipped off some of the bits. Fortunately, the carbide and the shanks were not affected.^M
As this case is shipped to the final user (not displayed in a stand), a thin layer of foam inside the bits' case would avoid this damage.
