Easily worth what I paid............

Bought this jointer when the price was in the low $300 range and came with a free mobile base.^M

Jointer took about an hour to set up. It was tuned perfectly for the first cut. Kudos to the Delta Guys for making my life easier in setting it up.^M

I face planed about 30 feet of white pine to start, with no cuts or dashes. The motor easily handles face planing 5 1/2 inches. ^M

Dust collection is only moderate, but it's acceptable. Granted, I have the machine hooked into a shopvac, not a bigger DC unit.^M

All in all, a GREAT buy for the money. If I had to spend $500 for it, then I might not be quite as excited. For a little over $300 though, you probably can't buy a better 6" jointer.

1st time jointer buyer

I have never owned a jointer, so I could not compare my purchase to anything I have previously owned. But, that said, I can say that this jointer is exceptionally suited for my needs. ^M

The thing weighs a ton and comes in two boxes - I needed a friend to help me get the bed on the cabinet. Only about 30 minutes after that to get it all assembled. And it only took about 20 minutes of passing some scrap stock through to get it tuned perfectly. ^M

It has no vibration at all and the bed was perfectly flat. Infeed adjustment can be tricky and tough to get moving, but it is accurate and stays where you put it. The cuts were excellent and a rough 2x4 became a nicely milled useable piece of stock within a few passes.^M

The only issue I have is the way the scrap chips are fed out of the jointer. Half of it comes back up through the blade area and onto the bed. Of course, I don't have my dust collection system set up yet, and I doubt it will be that bad after I do. So this issue will likely go away or become negligable as my shop situation improves.^M

I give it five stars for now because I haven't the experience to be critical enough - over time that may change, but for now I am pretty happy indeed.

This is my first experience with a jointer but this is an excellent one. The controls are easy to use and I especially like the position of the switch. Very convenient.
