Product Description

While there are a number of rotary tools on the market made by a host of different manufacturers, the Dremel Moto Tool is the one they all strive to copy. Dremel's MultiPro variable-speed model is great for a huge range of projects, from home improvement tasks to hobbies and crafting. It has a continuously adjustable speed range from 5,000 to 35,000 rpm, which allows the user to effectively work with materials as soft as balsa wood and as hard as ceramics. The kit comes with an assortment of accessories and a handy carrying case. Others may copy it, but Dremel has been making rotary tools so long they've come close to perfecting the idea. --Brian Trinen

What Some Customers Thought

Good,but expensive

We use the Dremel tool extensively at the place we work, an autmotive electronics Tier one supplier. I am Principal Engineer/Scientist, and my engineers and technicians and myself included like the ability to precisely control the speed of rotation of the dremel by a simple, but effective, sliding switch. It comes with a lot of attachments, as usual, some are really useful, while some are space fillers. ^M
What is really useful and makes the tool indispensable is the fact we can change its jaws (the part that holds on to the attachment) and thus it can hold the really fine drill bits for drilling precise and extremely small holes as required on PCB's for surface mounting integrated circuit and small circuit components. A normal Makita or Panasonic or larger drill cannot hold such small drill bits. And the smaller bits tend to break because of the lesser control and added weight when using the larger drill/drivers. The Dremel is perfect in these cases.^M
^M
The dremel also packs a punch in terms of power, its extreme high speed and power ensures that you will get the job done. But it does reqire some getting used to. For fine sanding, using the lower speed settings give you very good control. So when it comes to sanding down or polishing a surface, the dremel has no real competition. But mind you, this is for small and precise applications only.^M
^M
So all in all, you have a tool with immense capability and versatility. You can also buy additional attachments, I tink I saw a 320 attachment set for this tool at a Sam's club store. It is a terrific tool, and you will find use for it, no matter what. But I think the price is a bit too high at present, will wait till the ptice falls a bit. ^M
N.B. This model has a 1.15amp current rating, you also have a 2.0amp model (more juice = more power), also craftsman makes an equally good tool, at a slightly cheaper price. Shop around a little.

woman need drills too

This is perfect for woman to use. I held it, used it and was very satisfied. Upon mentioning this to other females they too said they were going to look at this products. THANKS

Hate to burst the Dremel bubble..

Two problems.. ^M
^M
Although I rarely use mine (maybe once every two months), sometime during the first year I started having to fight my charger so it would charge the tool. ^M
^M
Secondly, The variable switch stopped working. So now I have only one speed.. High.^M
^M
I plan on shipping it back to get it fixed, but since I rarely use it, it hasn't been a top priority..^M
^M
When you pay for a expensive tool, you expect it to be dependable and not stop working right in a few months when you're not using it.^M
^M
I guess I should have stuck with Lowes's house brand...
